Leconfield was an exclusive development by Bussey & Armstrong Homes, set in the West End of Darlington within easy walking distance of the town centre. Offering a choice of Town House, Detached homes or Apartments, it gave families, couples and individuals the ideal place to enjoy life.
The architectural style is Arts & Crafts, derived from the adjoining mature residential areas developed by the Dukes of Cleveland in the early 1900’s. The Duke of Cleveland estate was laid out to provide ‘homes for the emerging middle classes’ and the Arts & Crafts style movement emerged as a counter to Victorian architectural excesses.
The development is named after Lady Leconfield, the last Duke of Cleveland’s daughter.
